Question by Jizackie: Why are children have sex so young and how do you protect them?

I am 21 years old, I am engaged and of course I want to have children with my fiance. But I am scared to death. Children are having sex at age 13 or even sometimes younger?!?! How do you protect your child from that? Part of me wants to lock my future children away, never let them leave the house. So my question is, how do you protect your children from this? My fiance and I have talked about it, and it makes us scared to have children. I can't imagine our 13 year old child coming home saying they had sex and are now pregnant or got a girl pregnant. What are your thoughts on the alarming number of pre-teens having sex? And any types to protect them? And what can we do as a society to stop this? If anyone knows of local organizations in northern va, let me know, I'd want to get involved.
